HISTORY OF STONEWALL NEIGHBORHOOD

The Stonewall Neighborhood

has a rich legacy that needs to be

cherished and passed on to future generations. It is a refreshing

place to live, raise families, and feel like you are special. It is far

enough from the hustle and bustle of urban living, yet not too far

away to be considered suburban life.

In 1967 the first house

was built in the Stonewall Neighborhood

and the last house was built in 1972. When you enter the Stonewall

community for the first time, you will not forget the genuine

hospitality that the residents show you. You immediately notice

the stone walls on each side of the entrance when you enter the

neighborhood. The entrance itself gives you a warm and caring

feeling. The homes in this community are maintained in such a

way that you can make a postcard from the picturesque sights as

you stroll through our streets.

The Stonewall Community Association was incorporated

November 9, 1981.

The name of the incorporator was Rutherford Moorman.

The initial members of the Board of Directors were:

Rutherford Moorman James S. Reeves

Marilyn Roseboro Clenzo Barringer

Reginald Smoot Sylvester Lowery

Edward Reece Ben Hughes

Javone Rice
